ISPA_ERASMUSThe Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for the management of certain parts of the EU's programmes in the fields of education, culture and audiovisual. More about the EACEA.

Fully operational from the 1st of January 2006, the Executive Agency operates under supervision from its three parent Directorates-General of the European Commission:

Lifelong Learning Programme

The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) is the successor to the Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci and ICT / Open & Distance Learning (2000-2006). It supports learning opportunities from childhood to old age in every single life situation through different programmes as Comenius, Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig, Jean Monnet, and transversal key activities.

This Office develops its activities within these projects in close cooperation with the Portuguese National Agency for the LLP program.

At the moment we are engaged in two of these programs: Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci.

Erasmus is the EU's flagship education and training program, enabling more than 180,000 students to study and work abroad each year, as well as supporting co-operation actions between higher education institutions across Europe. It caters not only for students, but also for professors and business staff who want to teach abroad and for university staff who wants to be trained abroad. Learn more here!

The Leonardo da Vinci program links policy to practice in the field of vocational education and training (VET). Projects range from those giving individuals the chance to improve their competences, knowledge and skills through a period abroad, to Europe-wide co-operation between training organizations.
